NFU and the television cameras came to school!

On Thursday, 24 November 2016, the NFU accompanied by Kirsty Williams and some television cameras came to join us at school.  The NFU were launching their new education pack and some of the children in Dosbarthau Epynt and PenyFan were invited to try the resources out!  The full item can be seen on Ffermio on 12 December 2016.

Pc Mark Davies telling us how to stay safe on line

On Thursday, 24th November 2016 PC Davies came in and talked to Tryfan about E-Safety. He showed us a video about SMART.

S stands for safety online.

M stands for meeting people online.

A stands for accepting friend requests safely.

R stands for responsibility.

T stands for tell a trusted adult.

The video was about 2 children who start playing a new game but, keep doing things wrong and Tarian tells them that their doing things wrong and they then correct them. Some of the things that they kept doing wrong were, making a week password, talking to people they didn’t know in real life, putting pictures of themselves online, sharing personal details with strangers, and inviting people to their house when they didn’t know them.

New ipads for the school!

Kirsty Williams, Welsh Government Education Secretary, visited our school to see the presentation of ipads by the construction company responsible for the houses on the site of the old Builth Wells Cottage Hospital.
